Xiaomi has confirmed it is planning to launch the Redmi K40 series sometime in February. The Redmi K40 series succeeds the Redmi K30 series from last year and the Pro variant will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. Xiaomi launchedMi 11 as the world’s first phone powered by Snapdragon 888 processor back in December 2020 and is now taking it further by offering the Redmi K40 series at affordable price points.
Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing has confirmed the launch of the Redmi K40 series in February along with revealing some information about the upcoming smartphones. Weibing has also confirmed that the Snapdragon 888-powered Redmi K40 Pro will start at CNY 2,999 which also makes it one of the most affordable phones to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship processor.

Redmi K40 will launch in China next month, the company has announced. The series is confirmed to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and the price of the Redmi K40 has been also revealed by Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing. The Redmi K40 series will succeed the Redmi K30 series launched last year. There s not much else known about the Redmi K40 at the moment, but more about its design and specifications can be expected to be teased in the run up to the launch in February.

AnTuTu has published its midrange smartphone performance chart for December, and it is looking somewhat stale with the typical Dimensity (Redmi 10X) and Kirin (Huawei Nova 7) phones jostling for position. However, a potential Redmi K40 sporting a Snapdragon 7-series SoC could soon be in competition to be the fastest midrange smartphone.
