Museum project digitized thousands of documents, recordings, films, photos and 3D objects

The Presbyterian Historical Society is the recipient of a 2023 National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Humanities Collections and Reference Resources (HCRR) Implementation grant. The $330,678 grant will fund the digitization of 22,500 images, newspaper clippings and related documents from the Religious News Service (RNS) Photograph Collection, as well as rehousing of the entire collection of 60,000 photographs and accompanying materials.

A recently announced project involving a pair of circa 1850s homes aims to digitize and contextualize wall markings left behind during the Civil War.

The “Off the Wall: Digital Preservation of Civil War Graffiti Houses” grant was one of only 40 of 205 eligible applications to the Humanities Collections and Reference Resources program of the National Endowment for the Humanities which received funding for the grant cycle.
