electoral count act could be enough to satisfy some advocates at least pushing for reform to voting rights? i don t think it is going to be enough, jake. i think it is an absolute first step. i think it needs to happen. i think we should all be able to agree that particularly when it comes to votes after vote count k, after the votes have actually been cast, that there needs to be a strong process to maintain the integrity, make sure that whoever won the election won. that s what this reform effort is aimed at trying to ensure, the integrity of that process. that is a critical step and a necessary step. but just because you ensure the integrity of an election doesn t give you a pass for not being able to ensure the expansion of a franchise here across the united states. again, the basic principle here is that every person in this country should be able to, every common person in this country should be able to cast their ballot. every legal citizen.

Thomas and Allen, as well as a family of four that also live in the triplex, allege their landlord doesn’t actually live in their building. Instead, they argue, the landlord is merely pretending to live there in order to exploit the city’s housing laws.
“Our landlord doesn’t live here,” Thomas said. “He never lived here. He didn’t live here on the day he gave the eviction notice, but about a week after he delivered the eviction notice, he started coming here once or twice a week.”
