The Shelby County Commission voted Monday evening to limit the Shelby County Sheriff s office and Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security from obtaining weapons from the military something the local Sheriff says he hasn t done.
The vote was 10-3.
The commission had been talking about this issue for months, and voted on a heavily edited new version of the ordinance, which was produced following collaboration among parties including County Mayor Lee Harris and Sheriff Floyd Bonner.
