Experts in the nation’s aviation industry have expressed concerns over the role of the director Airworthiness and Standard of the Nigerian Civil Aviation

Air-First Nigeria Limited, the operator of the light single-engine aircraft, turbo 5N-CCQ which crashed in Lagos State has shut down its website revealing a top government official, Engineer Gbolahan Abatan as its owner. Abatan is the Director, Airworthiness Standards of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). The plane with two passengers on board had on Tuesday crash-landed into an old communication pole inward Ikeja Bus Stop on Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja Lagos around 4 pm.

There was panic on Tuesday in the Oba Akran area of Ikeja, Lagos State as a light single-engine airplane burst into flames after crashing on the road.

The aircraft was on a test flight within Lagos with two passengers onboard before it crashed around Oba Akran, Ikeja area of Lagos State, with no fatalities.

An eyewitness, Stanley Mohawa, who claimed to have rescued the occupants, said: “When we managed to bring them out, there was fire. Their money was falling off the plane. They were talking to us and were conscious. But they did not know what happened.

  The light single-engine aircraft, turbo 5N-CCQ which crashed in Lagos is operated by a private company owned by a top government official, multiple checks by SaharaReporters have revealed.   The plane with two passengers on board crash-landed into an old communication pole inward Ikeja Bus Stop on Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja Lagos around 4 pm on Tuesday.   The two occupants of the helicopter were however rescued and taken to the hospital.  

The Bureau in a statement signed by Tunji Oketunbi on behalf of the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection said the two souls on board have been taken to the hospital.
