RENTON, Wash. - One person was killed and one was critically injured in a two-alarm fire at a Renton home where large amounts of explosives and ammunition were stored, emergency officials said.
Two other people were trapped on the second floor of the home and had to be rescued by firefighters using ladders.
One firefighter sustained a minor hand injury while responding to the blaze and two other people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Crews and medics responded to the fire, in the 500 block of Queen Place NE, at around 2:15 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke and flames spewing from the residence, said Roy Gunsolus, assistant fire chief with the Renton Regional Fire Authority.
