Mountain lions will continue to stalk suburbia
As humans encroach on their habitat, the large cats have nowhere to go.

On most days, the only animals raising a ruckus in Rowlett are dogs barking This charming community, located 20 miles from downtown Dallas on the banks of Lake Ray Hubbard, has the small-town scenery and vibe that real estate developers extoll in their ads for suburban living.
This is not a place where anyone would expect to encounter a large, predatory animal. So the recent sighting of a mountain lion, including trail camera images of a cat walking between the cars in a home carport, head reaching the passenger window, was frightening for people in the neighborhood. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department confirmed the rare visit from a mountain lion.
