Cotton Textile: The recession in the textile industry continued in the first quarter of the financial year 2023-24, with Indias textile exports dropping by 15.26% to $8.4 billion.

Crisil Report: Revenues of Indian companies in the first quarter of this fiscal are expected to grow by 6-8%, marking the fourth successive slowdown, analytics company Crisil has warned. Of the 47 sectors tracked by the firm, 14 saw lower revenue, while 15 experienced slower sequential growth, highlighting the global trend for lower growth levels in industries such as steel and aluminium, where realisations and slowing demand for metals have impacted producers.

Zeiss Group India Investment: Global optical lenses major Zeiss Group will invest about Rs 2,500 crore in India on a new plant at Karnataka, mainly to increase its spectacle glasses manufacturing capacity, according to a senior company official. Carl Zeiss India, the groups arm in the country, expects to employ around 5,000 people when the new plant becomes fully-operational.
