As a retired marine general who is also a gold star father, hes the perfect person to speak on this. he did err in his evaluation of wilson. i think if the white house took a step back. if they admitted that in their attack on representative, that they erred in this area, that would lend decent credibility. but they see that general kelly has gotten them out of a tight spot. i think the tendency here from the white house is not to want to give an inch at all. >> but doesnt that just keep the fur...

Bad because of this? >> it is important to not let the inflation that we saw of release of hucklebsanders stand. >> everyone was moved by that. people are pushing back on the story that he told about representative wilson that had absolutely nothing to do with niger that ended up being inaccurate. we saw a couple weeks ago that general kelly came out to say it was not his job to control the chaos and the white house. to some people this week, looks like hes apart of the chaos. thats perhaps of w...

Theres no recording of this conversation for him to actually say or the theory that he said that he knew he was getting into just doesnt seem to add up compared what all the other grieving families who have come forward have said after having spoken to the president. >> well, if you take a look at what general kelly said, he said that he had helped counsel the president. he had helped the president reach a message. it sounds like a lot of this comes down to tone and a question of how the preside...

$400,000 of his own money to pay for some of his staffs and former campaign acquaintances pay for some of their legal bills. these are mounting legal bills as part of this ongoing russia probe. theres a lot of questions. you know, who decides which staffers get the money? could it possibly include paul manafort and michael flynn? the president meanwhile hes continuing to dismiss these investigations as a hoax and a witch hunt, but make no mistake, the legal bills are very real and wracking up at...

World of trumpism in a way that seems inescapable for him. he should apologize not about what he talked about in terms of his own family and own experiences. >> no, of course not. >> apologize specifically for getting it wrong about representative wilson. and thats an easy thing to do. but unfortunately, trumpism does not allow for apologies, so hed have to actually work against his boss in order to issue a public apology, which he should do. he got it wrong, whether intentionally or not. the re...

Described the speech with representative wilson -- i interviewed her several time this is week. my last conversation with her, she was doubling down, saying general kelly is a liar, saying the white house is full of white strum cysts but shesi trying t move past this, getting ready for the funeral, because she knew him since he was in middle school. you have her saying that, and you have the family in the midst of trying to bury this soldier and have to endure this. his widows facebook page was ...

Them to rest. second part of that john kelly lost his own son: the impact of losing your own family member, i have friends that have had somebody show up at that door. i was severely wounded. it could have possibly been me. its just -- you cannot exrensd it unless you have been there. can i see why john kelly was so stunned at representative wilsons comments. >> to your point, i have made calls to family members and notified them when they have lost loved ones. it is a sacred process. and for a ...

Fallen agents. and the fbi in general. i think a lack of grace here. the it looks like theres no sort of unwinding that. the there isnt a kind of do-over here where people can press pause and reflect and make this right 6789 you saw sanders go out today and call her an empty barrel again, representative wilson, and essentially say what kelly said was accurate and he wanted to go out and get the story straight. we didnt get it straight. it was utterly wrong. he misremembered and got out there and...
