KANE COUNTY, IL Three Republican candidates who lost their races in November still have a glimmer of hope, with the Kane County Clerk’s office set to do a discovery recount Tuesday in 119 precincts, the Kane County Chronicle reports. Jim Oberweis, David Rickert and Jeanette Ward filed petitions for a discovery recount after each was defeated by their Democratic opponent in a close race. Each candidate said they were entitled to a discovery recount after earning at least 95 percent of the winner’s vote total, the Chronicle reports.
