College Town: Clark Trustees get $10M worker training award

WORCESTER – The Trustees of Clark University was one of two Massachusetts recipients of eight-figure awards in the latest funding round of the U.S. Department of Labor’s H-1B One Workforce Grant Program. The grants, which total $145 million, are intended to help train workers for jobs in industries like information technology, advanced manufacturing and transportation. “The U.S. Department of Labor is challenging communities to think as ‘One Workforce’,” Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment and Training John Pallasch said in a statement. “In a post-coronavirus world, it is critical that local organizations think as one instead of independent parts of a process. Our goal is to create seamless community partnerships to build career pathways for local job seekers.”
