Free sprinkler system evaluations available for residents through Boulder-based Resource Central

Free sprinkler system evaluations are available across Colorado from Resource Central, a Boulder-based conservation nonprofit, starting in June. Evaluations include system efficiency tests, a custom watering schedule, a list of methods to increase watering efficiency and maintenance tips. Appointments are available Monday through Friday on a on a first-come, first-serve basis through August or September at ResourceCentral.org/Sprinklers. Boulder County Public Health (BCPH) encourages residents to test their homes for radon, an invisible, odorless gas that can cause lung cancer. Radon is a naturally occurring gas that decays into radioactive particles and increases the risk of lung cancer for those living with radon trapped inside their homes. Radon exposure causes as many as 500 deaths due to lung cancer each year in Colorado. Testing for radon and fixing the issue is easy if your home has elevated levels.
