Bising affects over 59K families — DSWD – Manila Bulletin

Published April 21, 2021, 10:57 AM The number of affected families by Typhoon “Bising” in Bicol, Eastern Visayas and Caraga has increased to over 59,000 or almost 230,000 persons, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Wednesday, April 21. DSWD logs over 4K evacuee-families

Published April 21, 2021, 6:55 PM The number of evacuee-families in four regions most affected by Typhoon “Bising” has decreased to over 4,500, the  Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Wednesday, April 21. Based on the DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) report, as of April 21, 6 p.m., 4,511 families or 18,603 persons are currently taking temporary shelter in 252 evacuation centers in Cagayan Valley, Bicol, Eastern Visayas and Caraga.  The report showed that 6,269 families or 24, 470 persons chose to stay with their relatives and/or friends. The DROMIC noted that the number of affected families by Bising had reached 60,601 or 235,572 in 965 barangays in the four affected regions.

More than 370K family food packs ready for distribution – DSWD – Manila Bulletin

Published April 21, 2021, 8:03 PM As Typhoon “Bising” has affected four regions, more than 370,000 family food packs (FFPs) are ready for distribution to the local government units (LGUs) that are in need of relief augmentation support , the Department of Social Welfare and Development said Wednesday, April 21. The DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) reported that as of April 21, 6 p.m., a total of 370,058 FFPs worth P188.61 million were available for distribution.  The report also showed that more than P527.74 million worth of non-food items (NFIs) and more than P306.58 million worth of other food items were also readied as part of the DSWD’s stockpiles.
