TIJUANA
The cloudy Sunday morning was full of activity in Tijuana, and all over Baja California. Many left home early, with their masks on and identification on hand, ready to vote for their next governor, mayor, local and federal congress representatives, while Mexico celebrates the largest election of its history.
Amanda Robles Macias, 39, left her house in Spring Valley on Friday evening and spent her weekend at her second home, in Tijuana, to cast her vote Sunday. She has been living in the United States for five years after she married an American citizen, she said, but she stills feels an obligation to participate in the Mexican political process.
