Lincolnshire COVID-19 infection rates drop close to the national average
But Northern Lincolnshire rates higher

Coronavirus infection rate levels have dropped in Lincolnshire and are now close to the national average, but Northern Lincolnshire has some of the highest rates nationally, pushing up Greater Lincolnshire’s average.
According to the latest government data on Thursday, Lincolnshire’s average infection rate, including its seven districts, is 25.8, compared to the England and UK rate of 24.5 per 100,000 of the population.
In Northern Lincolnshire, despite North East Lincolnshire having a low rate of 21.9, North Lincolnshire is over three times higher and has the fourth highest infection rate in the UK, 66.7, which bumps up the region’s overall infection rate level to 29.9.

The Lincoln City fanbase have been sharing tributes and memories of a devoted supporter who lost his life at the age of 47 after battling cancer.
Michael Waterfall worked at Lincoln County Hospital and was a lifelong fan of the Imps, following them home and away for a number of years.
He witnessed relegations, promotions, trips to Wembley, the true highs and lows of a football fan were etched in Michael’s memory.

Lincolnshire Police said a 12-year-old boy’s life has “potentially been changed forever” as he continues to receive treatment in hospital after a hit and run incident in Caistor.
The boy was crossing Grimsy Road at around 9.50pm on Wednesday, April 28 when he was struck by a car, which allegedly did not stop at the scene. Police initially said it was possibly a BMW, but now believe it was a silver Honda.
The young boy was seriously injured and police said he is likely to remain in hospital for some time, as he is facing life-changing injuries.
