Thoughts about john mccain. >> it was john mccain not only the sacrifice but deserves the reverence. because of the decades, the stories that hes been a part of, hes in a way more known to americans, more accessible than even a president. i wasnt surprised to see people wilting in the heat waiting. it would have been fitting just to have a service just in washington as it wouldnt have been fitting just to have a service in arizona. theres people waiting him to see him lie in state of the capitol...

Ordering the flags at half staff. >> it says the white house cant mourn properly. its not that difficult. chris is right. this is what the void feels like when you dont have a consoler in chief. you put your personal feelings aside. you put your own bickering aside and talk about the larger picture. what this person meant for the country. this isnt the first politician, by the way, of the same party john mccain had disagreements with. remember when it came to torture and water boarding, the publ...

>> always had good judgment. >> i thought this guy cant go anywhere. and then of course that campaign was so exciting because it was so boot strapped and unlikely and he really -- he would have won i think had -- he crushed george w. bush in the 2000 and new hampshire primary. the south carolina primary was ten days later, if it had been three or four days late are he might have ended up with the nomination. >> amanda, for a younger generation of conservatives, what does mccain mean and -- i can...

With all of you. >> reporters who he would take issue with the premise of your question or didnt have time or something like that, he was never shy about showing his an tag nix when he had it. but i think in his mind and certainly in the way he comported himself, there was a bigger purpose. there was a bigger in the case of mitt romney, there was an election to win. and he cared about the country and cared about principle and what was so defining about covering him, i think, he had this real sen...
