Sheffield Utd Women retain Rhema Lord-Mears on two-year deal Sheffield Utd Women retain Rhema Lord-Mears on two-year deal Sheffield United Women’s midfielder Rhema Lord-Mears has signed a new two-year deal through to the end of the 2022/23 season. Lord-Mears had been a constant presence in the United team this past season, playing a part in 19 of the side’s 20 league games. The 25-year-old scored a hat-trick in the Vitality FA Women’s Cup tie against Middlesbrough and has played a key role linking midfield and attack throughout the campaign. Formerly of Sheffield FC, Anderlecht and Blackburn Rovers, Lord-Mears joined United from the latter halfway through the 2019/20 campaign, only to see her first season with the club curtailed when the FA Women’s Championship was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
