Sabina Matos is set to be sworn in as lieutenant governor of Rhode Island Wednesday morning.
The state Senate confirmed Matos, a member of the Providence City Council, on a unanimous vote Tuesday, clearing her path to become next in line to lead the state if Gov. Dan McKee no longer can. I promise you that you will always have someone who is willing to listen and to sit down and find common ground and common areas in which we can work together, Matos told senators after the vote.
