Richmond Market Hall. Picture: John J J Embleton RICHMONDSHIRE residents have been urged to help shape the future of Richmond’s historically significant Market Hall. Richmond Town Council has put together a survey, with the assistance of a professional market researcher, to discover how people feel about Richmond as a place to shop and visit. In particular, councillors want to know residents’ opinions on the 19th Century Market Hall, which hosts an indoor market that operates seven days a week throughout the year. The survey is part of efforts to increase use of the Grade-II listed building and ensure it has a sustainable future. The town council has already worked with the volunteer-run Richmond Information Centre (RIC) to create a modern new information facility for the town within the hall.
