by the name of shannon guess and she s had small parts in tv shows like the walking dead and vampire diaries. but authorities say she is the one that mailed the three ricin letters to mayor bloomberg, president obama and the head of a gun control lobbying group. so, this is a very serious situation. from the get-go when we were out at the couple s home last week we had indications that authorities and investigators were very suspicious of her story. now if you remember sources back then had told us that it was she was the one who had contacted investigators and said that she had suspected that it was her husband who had mailed these letters, that she had found on their computer at home, information about ricin investigation and how to make ricin and had contacted investigators. well, now it turns out that the authorities say that she was trying to frame her husband all along in this case, and we just got our hands on the arrest warrant affidavit that goes along with this and said
appreciate it. straight to this breaking news that we re getting now on this arrest, rather surprising arrest in the case of the ricin-laced letters sent to mayor michael bloomberg, president obama, these anti-gun groups. ed lavandera is live in dallas. ed, what are you learning? reporter: if you remember, last week we were outside of the home in a town of new boston, texas, a small town far in the northeast corner of this state. and we re now learning, sources are telling cnn, that the woman who lived at that house, a woman by the name of shannon rogers richardson, was taken into custody and will be facing charges in connection with the ricin investigation. we re still trying to get more confirmation and more details on what the specific charges will be. but the law enforcement source tells cnn s susan candiotti that she was angry at her husband. remember, last week, we reported that it was a woman in that area of northeast texas that had
letters believed to have containcontain ed poison. a break in the case has brought fbi investigators to a small town in texas and that s where we find ed lavendera this morning, live in new boston, texas. ed, what s going on there this morning? reporter: good morning, john. this is a small town, population about 4,500 people, tucked away in the northeast corner of this state. and this is the last place neighbors in this neighborhood would have thought the ricin investigation would have ended up. law enforcement officials are questioning a man at this new boston, texas, home, about threatening letters believed to have contained ricin, sent to president obama, new york city mayor michael bloomberg, and a gun control group. it kind of hits home a little bit more when it could be someone right down the street. reporter: the three suspicious letters were postmarked in shreveport, l louisiana. the ones addressed to the president and mayor bloomberg
