NEW research shows forty per cent of the public don’t understand what coercive control is- despite three in ten people witnessing it.
A study carried out by RED C for Safeguarding Ireland found just 28 per cent understood what it means.

Coercive control has been an offence in Ireland since January 2019, becoming only the third country in the world to do so.
