The Friends of Rittenhouse Square will be hosting the Ball on the Square on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 6 to 11:30 p.m. The annual charity event in Rittenhouse Square Park features food, drinks, dancing and live music. Proceeds will go to park maintenance and the Project HOME charity.

Salty Paws ice cream shop for dogs opened its first Philadelphia location on Saturday at 211 S. 17th St. in Rittenhouse Square. Dogs can enjoy ice cream, doughnuts, cookies and other treats at the parlor. Salty Paws is open seven days a week from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
