Alerts: Environment Agency officials say updates are regularly posted on their website FLOOD alerts are still in place for two north Cumbrian rivers, says the Environment Agency. The alerts - which mean that flooding is considered possible - are for the Rivers Wampool and Ellen, though water levels have fallen in recent hours. In a statement issued yesterday evening, the Agency said: River levels have fallen at the Station Road Innovia river gauge in Wigton. However, with more rainfall expected this evening and overnight (January 28) river levels are expected to rise again. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible. Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Wigton, Waverton, Abbeytown, Blennerhasset, Dearham, Maryport and Allonby areas.
