Jon Henderson walked along the runways of Bader Field just after noon on Monday talking about the new location of the upcoming Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival when he began receiving text message after text message.
The messages were about Gov. Phil Murphy dropping many COVID restrictions including removing all outdoor gathering limits. This was good news for Henderson, of Good Time Tricycle Productions and the festival’s producer, who will hold the hugely popular event outside at the abandoned airport for the first time in its 16 year history.

Shot and a beer in New Jersey
Some New Jersey breweries are going to offer a free beer to people who get the coronavirus vaccine.
NEW JERSEY - More than a dozen breweries in New Jersey are going to be offering free beers to the newly vaccinated as part of a program announced on Monday.
Gov. Phil Murphy rolled out the Shot and a Beer program during a news conference from Trenton.
The catch is that the person has to have their first dose of the vaccine in the month of May. People who were vaccinated before May will not be eligible for the free beer.

In the latest move by a state government to encourage its residents to get vaccinated, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy announced on Monday, May 3, that adults who show their vaccination card at a list of eligible New Jersey breweries will be given a free beer as a reward. The “shot and a beer” program is in place now and will be available to all vaccinated adults through the end of May.
The plan is part of Murphy’s new “Operation Jersey Summer,” wherein state officials are aiming to get 4.7 million New Jerseyans vaccinated by June 30. Offering free beer is certainly one way to accomplish that. As of Tuesday, the state of New Jersey has 3.3 million vaccinated residents.
The average daily rate of vaccination has been on the decline for about two weeks. More than 20 states are not ordering all available doses of the vaccine as interest slows. Just last week, Philadelphia nearly lost 1,000 doses that were set to expire.
So far, just 40% of the adult population in the United States is vaccinated, and 70% of the senior population has had their shots, CDC data shows.
In order to achieve herd immunity, officials say 70% to 80% of the population must be vaccinated.

New Jersey announced it is offering a shot and a beer for residents who get their first dose in May, as part of its public awareness campaign dubbed Operation: Jersey Summer.
