The Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division (SRPSD) is reporting the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has identified a positive COVID-19 case in an individual at École Debden Public School.
In a media release, the SRPSD said the SHA also confirms that this case is not due to school transmission.
Once the school division was informed of the positive COVID-19 test result, communication was shared with the classrooms/cohorts, the connected staff, as well as with the school community. Students directed to isolate by the SHA will continue with remote learning. Privacy concerns prevent sharing of further details of the case.
The SHA has also informed the division that arrangements have been made to have a mobile testing unit in the community of Debden. Testing will be available by referral from HealthLine 811 and all walk-ups on Tuesday March 2 at the Debden Community Centre from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is alerting the public about an increased COVID-19 exposure risk in the St. Louis area.
According to a media release, because of some cases related to events in St. Louis, which resulted in the spread to same household members, there is an increased risk of COVID-19. The increased risk of exposure is for those who may have attended any outdoor recreational events, poker rallies and poker card parties outside of their home since Christmas.
The SHA says those who were at any of the listed events should immediately self isolate and call HealthLine 811. They also instruct those who were told by someone from the events they tested positive for COVID-19 and were in contact with them for more than 15 minutes to self isolate immediately. They recommend those who had any interaction with the events but are not experiencing symptoms to consider getting tested.
