The Sandoval County commission voted unanimously on Wednesday to issue revenue bonds in launching the construction of a 218-unit complex called Sandoval Flats on the northeast edge of Rio Rancho. The complex will be located at Camino Encantadas and Oersted Road about a half-mile northwest of NM 528 and Idalia Road. That's area is also within a couple blocks from buildings like the Sandoval County Office of Emergency Management and the Sandoval County Clerk building.
Sandoval County is moving forward with allowing a second solar farm along Encino Road. The commission unanimously approved a resolution Thursday to consider an industrial revenue bond that would go toward the Encino North solar farm, more than two years after the existing Encino solar site entered the picture.
Commissioners unanimously approved a private activity bond of up to $23 million for the planned, privately owned 152-unit Casa de Encantada seniors-only apartment complex near US 550 and Safelite Boulevard. The county is not responsible for paying any of the debt and has no out-of-pocket costs related to the bond, said financial adviser Rob Burpo.
County supports affordable senior complex
BERNALILLO After about 20 years, Rio Rancho may welcome another affordable senior living complex, said Sandoval County Financial Advisor Rob Burpo.
Burpo presented to Sandoval County Commissioners about the development Thursday night at the county Administration Building.
The developers of the senior living center are the same developers of the multi-family affordable housing complex, 550 Paseo Apartments, which is slated to begin construction later this year, Burpo said.
DBG Properties LLC plans to build two residential buildings next to the 550 Paseo Apartments near the intersections of US 550 and Paseo del Volcan. Burpo said the last senior affordable housing complex built in Rio Rancho was the Buena Vista Active Adult Community behind Smith’s Food and Drug Store, and is at capacity.
