A welfare check on a family in Enoch, Utah, Wednesday led police to discover the bodies of eight dead family members having gunshot wounds.

Authorities have not said when the shooting occurred.

Five children were among eight family members found shot dead in a house in southwest Utah on Wednesday during a wellness check.

Police didn't offer specifics about the killings, but said they discovered the bodies while conducting a welfare check at the house.

Officials in the city of Enoch said Michael Haight, 42, killed his wife, mother-in-law, and the couple’s five children.
