There is plenty to say about Zed Williams these days and by and large, he hears it. All the talk about his elite level of play and how he’s one of the best lacrosse players in the world.
He also sees the way people look. The adoring eyes of young players, the menacing glare of peers trying to defend him and the often-dejected stature of those who cannot.
But that’s not the way Williams sees or even thinks of himself. Sure, he’s confident in his lacrosse abilities and he knows he can run with the best. But the primary goal is, and always will be, to make his family proud.

The Matthew Greene no one knew: ‘Proud Boy’ Matthew J. Greene spent six years in the National Guard hunting and fighting terrorists. Then the Syracuse man became one, according to federal prosecutors. Greene, 33, has been charged with coordinating and leading the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. The man who had fought in the deserts of Afghanistan went to Washington, D.C., prepared for another war. Greene lived in two worlds that collided only when people learned of his arrest.

Syracuse leading goal scorer Chase Scanlan has been reinstated to the program, a Syracuse Athletics spokesperson has confirmed to AllSyracuse.com. Scanlan was previously suspended indefinitely from the lacrosse program, according to a report from Inside Lacrosse, as a result of an incident after the Orange s 21-9 loss against North Carolina. Syracuse.com reported that Scanlan has denied any wrongdoing through his high school coach.
“He says it’s nothing but it’s become something,” Silver Creek head coach Rob Genco said. “According to him, there’s literally zero chance that anything happened.”
