A grief-stricken father racked up nearly $6000 in damage when he drunkenly smashed windows of cars parked at a Coast pub.
CCTV cameras caught Colin Lloyd Gillies using a large orange bollard to smash the windows of vehicles at the Waterfront Hotel in Diddillibah on January 15.
Police prosecutor Brendan Newman said Gillies used the same bollard on the three cars.
“CCTV footage shows … (Gillies) staggering down the road walking past a Nissan X-Trail,” he said.
Sergeant Newman said Gillies picked up the orange bollard and smashed the back window.
“The defendant has then moved to the second vehicle and proceeded to smash the rear window of that vehicle with the same bollard.”
