Acadiana will enter a wet pattern over the first couple of weeks of the new year, with a chilly, wet night ahead for the area for starters.

The weather will finish 2023 in fine fashion for Acadiana with plenty of sun accompanied by afternoon temperatures reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s...but plenty of changes are in store next week.

Chilly winter nights followed by milder afternoons are anticipated for Acadiana this weekend with any shower activity holding off until around daybreak Monday.

A little taste of winter remains in the forecast for Acadiana with the opportunities for brief light freezes and frosts possible over the next few mornings.

Acadiana's seasonably cool and dry weather pattern will chill further later this week as a cold front Wednesday should bring our morning lows closer to the freezing mark Friday and Saturday mornings.

A winter chill is in store for Acadiana through the end of the week into the first part of the holiday weekend, with light freezes possible for Friday and Saturday mornings.

Acadiana will get to enjoy a dry and cool pattern for much of the week with temperatures nudging downward toward the freezing mark for at least a couple of mornings later this week into the weekend.

Acadiana will see more high clouds and they will be thickening for the rest of the week ahead of an unsettled holiday weekend, with the prospects of soaking rains increasing for Christmas Eve.

Temperatures will gradually moderate for Acadiana for the rest of this week with the prospects of showers increasing into the weekend, and especially for Christmas Eve.

Acadiana's dry winter chill will gradually moderate this week with milder temperatures, and an unsettled pattern that is expected to develop into the weekend.
