Acadiana will continue to see plenty of cloud cover accompanied by spring-like warmth into the weekend.

Southerly winds are expected to crank-up across Acadiana Wednesday in response to a large and complex storm impacting the U.S. this week.

It happens every year around this time in Acadiana: stretches of breezy and mild weather as the the storm track focuses/shofts north of the region.

Much of South Louisiana could experience heavy downpours and strong to severe thunderstorms today. Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans bracing for storms.

It will remain unsettled and mild across Acadiana through Thursday with a cold front scheduled to set-up a winter chill for the area this weekend.

Showers and thunderstorms will be likely for Acadiana Thursday in advance of a strong cold front that will bring a brief period of winter temperatures back to the region into the weekend.
