It will be a chilly to borderline cold start for Acadiana's Mardi Gras Tuesday, but expect a milder finish under wall to wall sunshine.

It will feel like February at the start of this week for Acadiana, with more more spring-like temperatures accompanied by lots of clouds and eventually rain chances into the weekend.

After another chilly start, expect a partly sunny and mild Wednesday for Acadiana followed by plenty of clouds for the rest of the week, and then, building rain chances this weekend.

Acadiana's weather will stay on a roll through the rest of the week, but another soaker is still expected for the area Saturday.

After a couple of weeks with a deep freeze followed by a wet pattern, Acadiana finally has a nice stretch of late January weather before the next weather-maker with another soaking arrives Saturday.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office was called out to the scene, and was able to rescue the family, SLPSP revealed on Wednesday afternoon.

After a 48 hour period of locally heavy rainfall, and some flooding, along with some severe weather early Thursday, expect more rain and storms to develop for Acadiana Friday into Friday night.

Some flooding is possible in parts of Lafayette and throughout Acadiana.
