Located 50 light-years away, the planet GJ 1214 b has defied 15 years of attempted observations due to its hazy nature.

A computer model suggests up to 24 planets could take a single path around a star, though a formation such as this would be rare in nature.

You might be the next amateur astronomer to discover an exoplanet. NASA wants your help in finding more alien worlds in space. The space agency's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is inviting everyone once again to participate in NASA's Exoplanet Watch project, where amateur astronauts can help NASA scientists find exoplanets with or without a telescope.

The agency is opening its exoplanet discovery program to more citizen scientists.

NASAs Exoplanet Watch program seeks citizen scientists to help track planets outside our solar system, also known as exoplanets. Participants can use their own telescopes or smartphone to comb throug
