The first African player to win Belgium’s award for the Golden Boot was Nigeria’s Dosunmu, who clinched the prize in 2006.
He was a pioneer for the continent, although he wasn’t the first foreigner to conquer the scoring charts, with the likes of Tomasz Radzinski (Canada), Jan Koller (Czech Republic) and Robbie Rensenbrink (Netherlands) all having done so beforehand.
