A former Florida pastor has been charged with orchestrating the theft of $1.4 million worth of merchandise from Home Depot and then selling the stolen goods on eBay as the state’s top law enforcement official highlights his apparent violation of one of the Ten Commandments declaring “thou shall not steal.”

(RNS) The Rev. Robert Dell, a former pastor who founded a drug treatment center, is accused of using his spiritual authority to coerce people into stealing from Home Depot — and then selling stolen goods on a highly rated eBay store.

A former pastor out of The Rock Church in St. Petersburg, Robert Dell, 56, is accused of working with his accomplices to systematically shoplift products from stores across Central Florida.
