202 fdny members have died from 9/11-related illnesses. police and fire. and countless more continue to fight diseases. joining me now, deputy commissioner of the nypd, robert ganley. always good to get a first-person perspective in leadership of so many make our lives better every day. why is this happening can acquire those numbers higher than what we might think among the officers and the firefighters? i don t really believe the numbers are higher than we think. i think they are lower than we really think. harris: oh, no. so many officers, police and fire, responded that day. spent numerous hours on that pile, at the landfill, at the morgue. i just don t think we re anywhere close to seeing the end of it. harris: you think it s the length of time, and that exposure? the exposure, if you think about it, that day when the towers came down, it was nothing
