Insider is investigating the deaths of five men who died in police custody or after confrontations with sheriff's deputies over eight months.

Cory Jackson's family told Insider that they were trying to take him to the hospital but deputies arrested him and took him to jail instead.

Trevor McKinley's family said he struggled with drug abuse but had never resisted officers before and didn't deserve to die.

Mississippi Bureau of Investigation officials were called to the scene following the shooting and are currently investigating the incident.
