Woman arrested for intentionally setting fire in Salinas Riverbed

Samantha Parker was arrested for starting the fire and for narcotic violations. –On Saturday at approximately 9:09 a.m., Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the riverbed adjacent to 3200 Sulphur Springs Road, just north of the Highway 46 East bridge. First arriving firefighters found a 20’x20′ spot actively burning around trees and brush. Firefighters were able to contain the fire within 10 minutes and worked to fully extinguish the fire over the next hour. Two fire engines, one paramedic squad, and one battalion chief from Paso Robles responded. Paso Robles Police Department also responded for traffic control and investigation.

Lost and found: Paso Robles Police seek owner of lost bracelet

–This week, a community member found a lost bracelet on a walking path in Paso Robles and turned it into the Paso Robles Police Department, and now the police department is seeking to find the owner of the bracelet. “The bracelet obviously means something to the person that wore it because it has something special inscribed on it,” wrote the PRPD in a Facebook Post. “If you are the owner of this bracelet, please come see us so we can reunite you with your bracelet,” they encourage. The police department says they want to ensure any found items are returned to the rightful owner, however, they are unable to assist if the owner of the item doesn’t file a lost property report. Found property is held for a period of 90 days. If unclaimed, the property is sent for destruction or donated to a charitable organization per department policy in accordance with California law.

First responders rescue person stranded in riverbed in Paso Robles

Paso Robles Police and Emergency Services PASO ROBLES, Calif. - Paso Robles Police and Emergency Services performed a rescue of a person stuck in a riverbed on Thursday afternoon. At around 1:55 p.m., Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services received reports of a person surrounded by water in the Salinas riverbed. Crews reported on scene south of the Niblick Bridge and located the stranded person. Crews used water rescue equipment to access the person and bring them to a safe area. Paso Robles Police assisted in locating the person and providing traffic control in the area. The person denied medical transportation.

Paso Robles Police investigating body found with gunshot wound

Photo by Jason Brock. –At 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Paso Robles Police officers are investigating the scene of a reported gunshot victim in the Sherwood Forest Park off Creston Road between Scott Street and Cedarwood Drive. When officers arrived, they found a body leaning against a tree and realized that the person had a gunshot on the top of the head. There was a handgun lying nearby, according to police. The victim is a man in his early 20s and police believe the fatal wound was self-inflicted.
