A lengthy discussion was held this week by the District 205 School Board regarding possible changes to the Student's Code of Conduct. The biggest issue from the meeting was in regard to students at the high school, what will soon be the 7-12 learning center, wearing their student IDs around their necks. Students that forget their ID are charged a fee for a new one, which has led to the accumulation of $15,000 in fees. Board member Tianna Cervantez, along with Pamella Bess-Tabb and Tera Boettcher, was in favor of eliminating the requirement to wear the IDs or, at the very least, figuring out a way to reduce the accumulation of fees. "We've had this fee conversation before. That's why we went fee-less as a district because no one was paying the fee there was no incentive. There is no incentive for it.
