Two Americans are believed to be dead after a trio of escaped prisoners from the island nation of Grenada hijacked their yacht, according to international authorities.

Ralph Hendry and Kathy Brandel had been sailing on their catamaran yacht Simplicity and are believed to be dead following the incident last Sunday.

Three escaped inmates in Grenada may have stolen a yacht and killed the two American passengers onboard, the Royal Grenada Police Force said on Thursday.
