Pendleton was convicted in June 2021 on two murder charges in the deaths of Lola Moore, his mother, and Grand Forks Police Officer Cody Holte, in a May 2020 shooting that occurred when officers were serving him eviction papers at his Grand Forks apartment.
The notice of appeal was filed after Pendleton was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the death of Grand Forks Police Officer Cody Holte on Oct. 8. Pendleton was also sentenced to 25 years in prison for the death of his mother, Lola Moore. He also was sentenced for several other charges.
