HUBBARD The official cause for the fire that heavily damaged St. Patrick Catholic Church last month has been listed as “undetermined.”
The state fire marshal made that determination in a report released late last week.
Eagle Joint Fire District Chief Ron Stanish earlier said damage was too great to determine where the Jan. 18 fire started. According to the fire marshal’s report, the origin was found to be in a basement conference room, which is located next to a kitchen.
The report estimated damage to be about $4 million. The church suffered heavy smoke damage with the front altar and floor also damaged, reports state.
