Welcome on the congressional hearing on the offices budget and outlook. I want to thank everyone for being here this morning. Were holding this hearing today to discuss the congressional budget offices economic out look which gives us a look at our spending, National Debt and how the economy is going to perform over the next decade. It forms the cornerstone of the work we do here at the House Budget Committee and i want that thank for their hard work and would also like to welcome director hall. I do appreciate you taking the time to testify today and look forward to your insight as we discuss this report. The discussion we will have today is a serious one because as cbo indicate we face economic challenges. Deficits are beginning to rise and Economic Growth continues to be sub par. Cte programs are typically located. Theyre Career Center far away from the Traditional High School unless row have a fabulous Technical High School, which i love that concept. But not every child is going to choose that. As theyre exploring careers and ideas, if they leave and go off campus for the half of a day. For the programs, they are missing the other college prep and advance placementtype of courses they need to go to college. I think we have a big disconnect between our academic programs and these academic programs, which people dont call them academic programs. But actually they should be. I think we have huge branding issues, as you have said, cte. We also have the access issues for students who might cant go and explore it. Theyre getting off the college track. And the day i stepped into the oval office the American Auto industry, the heartbeat of American Manufacturing [ applause ] heartbeat of manufacturing, the Auto Industry was fl flatlining. Ford was standing on its own two feet and made smart decisions but allen will tell you, if gm and chrysler had gone down, suppliers would go down and dealers would have gone down and all of that would have had a profound impact on ford. I refuse to let that happen. We worked with labor and management and everybody had to make sacrifices and everybody put skin in the game. We bet on the american worker. We bet on you and today that bet has paid off because the American Auto industry has come roaring back.
