Wicked Local Jen Murphy loves plants and gardening.  She loves getting her hands in dirt.  It only seemed natural for her to open a plant shop, which is exactly what she did in North Scituate. “Good Roots Boutique is a shop in the old train building,” Murphy said.  “We sell mostly tropical plants and succulents, but also other beautiful and healing things like artwork, jewelry and pottery from local artists.  Plants are purifying and we hope customers feel a positive healing vibe when they visit.” Murphy claimed South Shore status after moving to Hingham in the 8th grade, she said.  In 1997, she moved with her family to Scituate because of the beaches, and stayed because of “the amazing community here.”

Local News By Fannin County Children’s Center Dec 23, 2020 Fannin County, Texas -- In all, 224 children served by the Fannin County Children’s Center will have gifts of coats, shoes, books, games, toys and other items to open on Christmas morning, thanks to several generous donors and many hard-working volunteers and staff.  This year’s effort to provide Christmas presents for the children and youth served by CASA and the Children’s Advocacy Center looked different than in year’s past.  Some of the changes were due to the pandemic, but others were because the agency’s caseload has grown so much in recent years.
