Donors help replenish Ross Township community West View Ross Athletic Association blood drive

The West View Ross Athletic Association hosted its annual blood drive. “With all the medical facilities in our area it definitely needs that blood supply coming in so that people can have the surgeries they need, have the life-saving procedures we need to have,” said Mike Shields with the West View Ross Athletic Association. The West View Athletic Association took a page out of that book and gave people who donated a $50 discount on registration athletic association fees.

Allegheny County to Open Three More Vaccine Distribution Sites

Residents can get COVID-19 vaccines in Oakland, the Hill District and Ross Township. March 16, 2021 The Allegheny County Health Department announced Tuesday it will be opening three more sites by the end of the month to administer the COVID-19 vaccine.  All sites will be by appointment only. The county schedules appointments through Allegheny Alerts and on its COVID Vaccine Page. Residents without internet access can call 2-1-1 for help scheduling an appointment. The health department is partnering with the University of Pittsburgh to administer vaccines at the Petersen Events Center beginning tomorrow, March 17, through the end of next week. Second dose appointments will be provided at the same location. Free parking will be available at the garage at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum off of Bigelow Boulevard with free shuttles running between the garage and the Peterson Event Center.  A parking lot near the center will also be available with limited spots for those who
