A project which enabled people across Wexford to remember their loved ones during the festive period has raised almost €9,000 for local charities. The Rotary Tree of Remembrance was erected on the Quay in Wexford during December allowing the public to place yellow and purple ribbons with a name or a message dedicated to lost loved ones on the tree.
Over 250 soroptimists gathered in the Ferrycarrig Hotel on Saturday to celebrate Nollaig na mBan (Women’s Christmas) as the Wexford branch hosted an event which sought to highlight the work of the charities it supports. Members were joined by National President of Soroptimists Ireland (SI) Aisling Nolan and her club president Eileen from SI North Kildare.
