Heavy rain over the weekend brought a mix of localized flooding, washouts, and slides to much of the west coast of Newfoundland.

Heavy rainfall led to floods and washouts on Newfoundland's west coast last weekend. Culvert replacements led to an extended closure of Rouzes Brook Road, which is set to reopen to traffic Sunday night. Cape St. George Mayor Stella Cornect says a bridge is needed to avoid future road washouts.
