A first-year BTech student of NIT Rourkela was allegedly duped of Rs 2 lakh by fraudsters who promised to pay him for posting online reviews. Police said the student received a link on WhatsApp on Apr 19. When he clicked on it, he was asked to post reviews on the platform. After posting some reviews, money was credited to his account. He was then instructed to send money to a UPI number for getting ‘good’ returns. He sent Rs 2 lakh in six transactions but did not get any returns.
