The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating after more than 300 passengers and crew members of a Galveston-based cruise reported an illness.

More than 300 people became ill with vomiting and diarrhea

Nearly 10% of the passengers onboard a Ruby Princess cruise became ill with symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea between Feb. 26 and March 5.

Over 280 passengers and 34 crew members fell ill on a cruise operated by Princess Cruises and were "likely" infected with norovirus, the company said in a statement.
