GREAT FALLS, Mont. â Local business owners are warning customers of a recent scam alert over the past week where fraudulent accounts are being made on social media. Scammers are posing as local small businesses to try and get your credit card information.
So far at least three local shops are being targeted: 2Jâs Fresh Market, Runway Fashion Exchange, and the Purplegold food truck. Â
Jenn Thompson, a 2Jâs HR and Marketing representative, said the scammers are creating Facebook pages that look strikingly similar to their own. Customers are sent friend requests and later receive a message asking for personal information including credit card numbers.
Like shoes that pinch a growing kidâs toes, the walls were crowding in on Once Upon a Child.
Highchairs and bouncy seats were crammed into one end of the store. Racks of pants, shirts and dresses seemed to brush the ceiling and pajamas and sneakers jostled for room in the back.
âWe knew we were outgrowing it,â said Don Deimling about the 2,650-square-foot space for the store he owns with his wife, Wendy, and son, Cody.
Once Upon a Child had been tucked into a corner of Valley Plaza, 2454 U.S. Highway 6&50, for about six years, four of those owned by the Deimlings.
